Historical Background of Islamic Faith Essay

FASTING - ISLAMIC - LAWS
Over the years, I've read several published articles and books on "Sex" but, little did I see articles on "Sex in Islam " because it's a hot potato many don't want to have a deal with, not even the Islamic clerics, everybody wants to sit on the fence. Due to the mentality of the society I found myself, I've always loved to allow the sleeping dogs lie. Speaking or writing on such might paint me as someone without a spark of decency while keeping mute on such an essential issue is hypocritical. Nonetheless, I'd like to cross that bridge by addressing the misconceptions relating to "Sex in Islam" and thus, hitting the nail on the head. Ye man shall fear Allah on the other half. Therefore, what is "sex in Islam"?

SEX IN ISLAM by ABDULSALAM, Ridwan Abiodun
A woman is allowed to keep her face and hands uncovered in the presence of a non-mahram man, provided that she does not fear of getting into a haram act, that the exposure of her face and hand does not cause men to gaze at her in a forbidden way, and that it does not give rise to immorality in general. Otherwise, it is obligatory on her to conceal [her face and hands], even from those who are mahram to her. It is not permissible for a woman to expose the top part of her feet to a non-mahram onlooker. However, she is allowed to keep her feet —top as well as sole— exposed during salat, if she is in a place where she is immune from the looks of a non-mahram person.

Islam has prescribed and retained the ritual of fasting throughout centuries as a means for purifying the soul of a man in order to draw near to his Creator by selfish motives and base desires of self. It has a special status among all the devotional worships because it is difficult to perform. It puts a bridle on the most uncontrolled, savage human emotions. The most unruly human emotions are pride, avarice, gluttony, lust, envy, and anger.
