Sexual behavior is activated by motivation. An overwhelming majority of experimental studies of the intricacies of sexual motivation has been performed in rodents, most of them in rats. Sometimes it is desirable to generalize results obtained in this species to other species, particularly the human. It is hoped that studies of the neurobiology of rodent sexual behavior may shed light on the central nervous mechanisms operating in the human, and the search for efficient pharmacological treatments of human sexual dysfunctions relies partly on studies performed in rodents.

Zoning regulations are among the more visible and controversial functions of local governments. Zoning has become the principal tool citizens and local governments use to manage urban growth and development and to protect the character of their communities. Few matters will pack a hearing room as quickly as a major rezoning proposal. But if there is a topic that generates more community interest and controversy than zoning, it may well be sexually oriented businesses. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that zoning and other regulation of sexually oriented businesses produces tremendous public interest and debate, many local ordinances, and more than a few lawsuits.

Today, in the second extract from the new book Why Women Have Sex, by psychologists Cindy Meston and David Buss, we reveal the features that make a man appeal to a woman, and why, are far more fascinating and complex than you could imagine
The influences of these factors undoubtedly change as women age. This study aimed to examine potential differences in sexual motivation between three distinct age groups of premenopausal women. The items of this questionnaire were composed of four primary sexual motivation factors physical, goal attainment, emotional, insecurity , and 13 subfactors.
